Halton Web Connection's Mission
Halton Web Connections is a not-for-profit collaborative effort of volunteers who reside in the communities that make up the region of Halton: Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton and Oakville.
Our mission is to promote, via the Internet, Halton, Ontario, Canada, as a place to live, a place to learn, a place to work, and a place to play. HWC promotes, too, local charities.
The club posts websites based primarily on proximity to Halton. The criteria for our hand-picked links is:
Halton communities rank first. As one radiates outward across Canada, the selection process becomes more rigorous. And those links from other countries are included only when they exceed in content and excellence that which is found in Canada.
When searching the Internet, most people only look at the first 10 to 20 sites listed. They might get lucky and find the most relevant site first. More often than not, the sites that appear first are ad-driven ones, that is, companies paid to have their sites at or near the top of the search results. With Halton Web Connections we've searched deeply for truly relevant sites from a Canadian perspective.
